After taking a long break I’m back to blog posting! Thank you for sticking with me on this journey of blogging and all things social media.

As I enter into a new season and with school in full swing, I have started to get more organized. A new season always seems like a good opportunity to start fresh. This year I am in my senior year of college. I am excited for this next season, but I am also learning to balance school and my passions for this blog and my social media goals. So it’s important I stay organized. In previous years, I literally have forgotten to turn in homework because I didn’t right it down. To avoid going crazy this year, I have begun organizing and prioritizing my schedule to make sure I don’t forget anything important. I thought I would share with you all the best tips I have learned through the years for organization. Whether you are in school, working full time or somewhere in between I believe these tips will help you get organized too.

Tips For Organization:

1. Have a planner. This might seems so basic, but if you are someone who always seems to forget things and can’t keep things straight you probably don’t have a planner. I have two planners one for school and one for social media/blogging content. The one for school I write out all of the homework I have due for the whole month, so I know what I need to work on and what’s due. The one for social media/blogging is a general overview of what I will be posting that week. I’m still working on the social media/blogging one:) Here are some places I like to get my planners Target and Paper Source and for the exact planner that I use click here.

2. Get to-do list pads. I have so many of these on my desk, but they help me so much. Whenever I have multiple things to get done, I write them all out on a to-do list and work on only one thing at a time and then cross it out. (Can I say the satisfaction of crossing something off is so enjoyable.) This really helps me to not get overwhelmed when I have so many things to get done in a short amount of time. You can get to-do lists literally everywhere, my favorite place is the under $5 section at Target.

3. Use sticky notes electronically. I can only speak for mac computers having this, so if you don’t have a mac I’m sure there is a similar notes feature available. I just started doing this and it has helped me be a lot more productive. I have two different ones up on my desktop at all times. One is for the work I have to get done for social media and the other one is for my goals I have for the month, that I want to achieve and sometimes a weekly to-do list. I think because I go on my computer almost every day, I am visually seeing my tasks and that helps remind me to get them done.

4. Create an online calendar. I use google calendar (its free) or excel spreadsheet and time block your day. Which is essentially writing out your day, but it really helps me visually to see what I all have to do in a day. I have a hard time sticking to this, but I’m trying my best because it really helps to stick to a plan when I need to get things done.

Hope these tips helped you. Leave a comment on this blog post and let me know your thoughts and tell me something you do to stay organized.

Have a happy first day of fall!
